The dangers of sleeping naked in a house populated, not only by Geoffrey, but also by the notorious swingers, Rod, Jane and Freddie, perhaps forced Bungle to wear protective night-time attire. That was Frank Muir's theory anyway, in his seminal 1981 study into the sleeping arrangements of the Rainbow household. The theory was slated by David Icke in his 1983 Reith Lecture however. Icke argued that Bungle was actually the Queen Mother in disguise.
